Talking Pools Podcast
If you’ve ever stared at a test kit like it personally insulted your family… welcome home.
Talking Pools Podcast is the pool industry’s “pull up a chair” show—part shop talk, part field manual, part therapy session—built for people who actually live on pool decks: commercial operators, service techs, builders, facility managers, and anyone responsible for water that can’t afford to go sideways. The network was created to level up the pool industry with real-world conversations on water chemistry, filtration, troubleshooting, construction, safety, and the business side of keeping pools open and budgets intact.
Here’s the hook: it’s not theory-first. It’s experience-first—a roster of seasoned pros (with 250+ years of combined “been there, fixed that” wisdom) turning complicated problems into practical moves you can use the same day. And it’s not one voice, one vibe, one corner of the industry: it’s a network of shows designed to reflect how diverse this work really is—different regions, different specialties, different personalities.
Also worth saying out loud: women aren’t “special guests” here—they’re on the mic as hosts, from the beginning, with an intentionally balanced roster. That matters, because the best ideas in this industry don’t come from one lane—they come from the whole road.
If you want a podcast that can make you laugh and make you better at what you do—without pretending the job is easier than it is—Talking Pools is the one you queue up before the first stop, and keep on when the day starts getting weird.

Host: Peter, let's start with you. We heard you had a bit of a mishap recently. How's the leg doing?
Peter: Hey everyone! Yeah, it was quite the surprise. I slipped while cleaning a pool and ended up breaking my leg. But you know me, I couldn't just sit around feeling sorry for myself. I decided to use the downtime to take some online courses and learn more about the business side of pool service.
Host: That's incredible, Peter. Turning a negative into a positive! What kind of classes have you been taking?
Peter: Well, I've been diving into courses on water chemistry, advanced pool maintenance techniques, and even some business management classes. It's been eye-opening and has given me a fresh perspective on how to improve my services and run my business more efficiently.
Host: That's fantastic. We can't wait to hear more about what you've learned. Now, Lee, you've been on quite the journey yourself. Roaming the outback to help out fellow pool shop owners. What's that been like?
Lee: G'day, everyone! It's been an adventure, to say the least. I've traveled across some remote parts of Australia, stepping in for shop owners who desperately needed a break. It's tough out there, running a pool store, and sometimes you just need someone to cover for you so you can recharge.
Host: Absolutely. What are some of the challenges you've faced on the road?
Lee: Well, aside from the kangaroos and the long drives, it's been about adapting to each shop's unique setup and clientele. But it's been rewarding to see the relief on the owners' faces when they know their store is in good hands. Plus, I've picked up a lot of new tips and tricks from different regions.
Host: Sounds like an incredible experience. And Shane, you've got a suggestion for Lee, don't you?
Shane: Oh, definitely! Lee, mate, hearing all your stories, I was thinking you should hop across the pond to New Zealand and cover my store too. We could use your expertise and energy over here!
Lee: [Laughs] Oh, Shane, you're cheeky! But hey, why not? I've never been to New Zealand, and it sounds like another great adventure waiting to happen.
Host: That would be something! Well, it sounds like we've got some exciting times ahead. Thanks, Peter, Lee, and Shane, for sharing your stories. And thanks to all our listeners for tuning in. Stay tuned for more episodes of the Talking Pools Podcast, where we dive deep into everything pool-related.
